  • ASUS for video cards: good brand for Nvidia cards.
  • ASUS for smartphones: Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 is an excellent phone.
  • Realme for smartphones: excellent phones.
  • Logitech: great brand for mice & keyboards.

  • Noctua: reputed (but expensive) brand for CPU coolers and computer fans.
  • Be Quiet!: good brand for Power Supply Units (they are quiet).
  • Raspberry Pi Foundation: the Raspberry Pi are just excellent single-board computers.
  • Samsung: good for SSDs and microSD cards.

General Feedback

  • Corsair Power Supply (VS550 550W) fan started making awful noise and had to be replaced after about 3 years.

Bad experiences, but can still be purchased

nVidia

  • Their Linux binary drivers have doubtful quality. They are closed source, so there can be a lot of issues with them. For instance, it seems that hardware acceleration on browsers does not work (or way slower than on Windows). The nouveau drivers are not good enough at this stage (probably never will be of acceptable quality).

Kingston

  • A SSD drive stopped working (many I/O errors).
  • An USB key stopped working (losing everything stored on it).

ADATA

  • An USB key stopped working (after less than one year of use).

Never buy again from those

Here is a list of manufacturers I will never buy again due to various reasons. Boycott them! :)

Thor Zone

  • Unfortunately, extremely bad design and quality from this manufacturer. I wished they would have succeeded since they operate on crowdfunding but this was a total disaster.

Samsung

  • Don't buy smartphones from Samsung due to Bixby (and poor case design). Samsung is OK for other products though.

QNAP

  • Their NAS / Media Players are way too unstable and are a pain to use in the end. One of two was toasted after a while too. Just awful.

Asustor

  • A bit better than QNAP but not by much. Very bad OS, impossible to install Kodi without a lot of pain. Usable only as a pure NAS.

Dane Elec

  • Bought two SD cards from them, both were entirely unreadable after a while. I lost all my camera photos on them, twice!

Labtec

  • Lousy computer speakers. Only one works out of three.

Razer

  • This manufacturer builds gaming mouses. They are extremely expensive, however my first Copperhead mouse stopped working after only two years (a button was destroyed) and my current Lachesis mouse (80 $) "jumps" all the time. This is entirely unacceptable, my next buy will be a Logitech I guess.
  • Also, their support totally sucks and they don't have any Linux drivers.

ThermalTake

  • Poor quality CPU fan (noisy).

Bork

  • Poor vacuum cleaner.
