Current Gentoo Linux Problems

Major Problems

  • Firefox-bin is unstable on amd64. Crashes a lot, and unable to properly quit. Reason unknown yet.
  • amd64 installation on Core 2 Duo seems slow. It *is* fast, but one would expect better performance from such a configuration.

Normal Problems

  • A 64-bit client JVM is not available. Maybe it will be included in Java 1.7 but it's unlikely and anyway it's still far away.

Minor Problems

  • Better ALSA support in Wine. This is probably going to be fixed soon.
  • kdesvn causes a bug in Konqueror DCOP. This is already fixed in KDE 3.5.6.
